10 Glaring Goofs That Will Ruin 2015's Best Films For You

6. Sneaky Sneaker Changes And Game Boy Goofs - Dope

Sundance favourite Dope was a brilliant riposte to the coming-of-age films we are used to seeing set in South Central Los Angeles, following self-professed geeks instead of gang bangers and celebrating wit over violence. With a pair of star-making performances from Shameik Moore and Kiersey Clemons, Rick Famuyiwa€™s film was an unexpected gem that juggled drama and comedy in a brilliantly haphazard way, but as well-made as Dope was, it was not free of errors. Famuyiwa€™s hectic style of film-making makes it hard to spot the mistakes, but they are there, and some more glaring than others. For example, right at the start of the movie Malcolm dons some aqua blue Air Jordan 3 sneakers with a black tongue and gets on his bike, though in the following scene his shoes have magically changed colour and are now red and white. A pretty bad one right out of the gate. Another mistake that only those geeky enough to out-geek the film-makers spotted was during the cut-away scene that shows us young Tony Johnson accidentally getting killed in a fast food restaurant shooting whilst playing his Game Boy. The narrator tells us that he was €œseconds away from defeating Ganon€, though the only Legend of Zelda game on the Game Boy was Link€™s Awakening, one of the very few not to feature the chief antagonist of the series.
