10 Good Films Utterly Ruined By Their Awful Final Act

1. The Devil Inside

Devil Inside Now infamous, The Devil Inside€™s ending was so anti-climactic it was almost insane. What made it worse was that the trailers had shown off this fraught, terrifying horror, and you expected there would be scares all the way through. Well, I guess it was scary up to a point, but without a dramatic climax to hang its coat on it was all just so much window-dressing. For those of you who don€™t know the ending to The Devil Inside, well, I€™d usually offer a spoiler warning. However, in this case I think I might as well tell you here and save you the bother of watching the filmic equivalent of a gut punch. Effectively, just as you think there€™s going to be some sort of resolution with Isabella and all this possession nonsense, the film kills off a main character and cuts to black, imploring you to follow a website for ongoing information on the Rossi family. I€™m sorry, what? When did that qualify as an actual ending? It€™s a horrible moment when you encounter it for the first time and you realise you€™ve been blindsided by possibly the worst final act in cinematic history. I don€™t know about you, but I was actually furious. So there's the whole thing. Do you agree or disagree? Feel free to comment!
