The Movie: This 2006 movie from Hungary is a real oddity. An allegorical history of the country's potted history since the Second World War, it marries some truly stunning visuals with bizarre and uncomfortable scenarios, from a man who shoots fire from his penis to an obese binge-eating speed eater. Featuring a score by the excellent Amon Tobin, Taxidermia is a one of a kind film you'll be hard pushed to forget about in a hurry - surreal, sometimes comic, always unique. The Gory Death: Taxidermist Lajoska decides he's had just about as much of life as he can handle so decides to end his own life - and capture the moment for posterity. After pumping himself full of painkillers he removes a few of his own internal organs, sews himself up and pumps preservative fluids inside himself before positioning himself as a statue and activating a mechanism which swiftly chops off his head and saws off an arm. Afterwards, someone kindly installs him in an art gallery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPU6gnw2kGQ
