10 Goriest Film Scenes Ever
1. Ghost Ship - Slice And Dice
Forget machetes, bladed gloves and puzzle boxes, if all of cinema's famous horror villains were seriously interested in efficient killing practices, then they should have taken notice of the opening scene in Ghost Ship. The movie itself may have been a little lackluster in terms of narrative and genuine scary moments, but Ghost Ship is fondly remembered for one reason above all others, and that's its hugely effective opening scene.
Initially set in 1962 aboard a luxury cruise ship, the audience has to wait little more than a few minutes to witness mass murder. Amid the dancing, festivities and laughter, nobody notices that someone has released a thin, but very long length of wire that apparently has the cutting power of a chainsaw. Putting aside the actual properties of some ordinary cheese wire though, what follows is a sweeping scene of utter gore. Aside from Katie (the only survivor, who lives purely because she was too short to get sliced), every single person aboard the boat is sliced very neatly in two by the wire, leaving an almost mosaic-like mess of bisected humans on the deck of the ship. A memorable scene for an unmemorable movie.
