5. Remake Hand Dismemberment
Ash losing a hand is so iconic that quite a few of us had a feeling something similar might go down in the remake, effectively paying tribute to Evil Dead 2. Over the course of the remake's finale, Mia is chased by the Abomination (a super Deadite sacrificially reborn from 5 prior deaths in the film} This whole entire sequence is insanely graphic and remarkably so when you consider that as little CGI if none at all, was used to produce this remake. In summary, its like a perfect storm of extreme gore, homage, disgust, and pleasure. Im referring to Mia sawing off her hand which is trapped under a flipped car. Every tiny detail of the dismemberment you could possibly show is done so unflinchingly without fear as skin, bone, marrow, and flesh stretch and inevitably tears. Thats not even the ultimate gory climactic money shot though, as Mia then thrusts the chainsaw into the Abomination's head, cutting it apart down the middle with gallons of blood spraying everywhere. "Feast on this motherf*******" is also an awesome one liner to set up what arguably is the best shot of your movie.
