Cary Grant was one of the preeminent leading men during Hollywood's Golden Age of film. During his prolific career, he established himself as one of the greatest actors in history with work in The Philadelphia Story, North by Northwest, and many more.

At the age of 62, Grant made the decision to retire from acting to help care for his newborn daughter, Jennifer. He wanted to give her a sense of stability and permanence in her life a career in acting wouldn't have afforded.

Following his retirement, some of Hollywood's greats including Warren Beatty and Alfred Hitchcock made several attempts to lure him back into the fold, but he always resisted.

After retiring, he worked as a representative for Fabergé and as a member of the MGM board of directors. He was awarded with an Honorary Oscar in 1970 for his life's work in film. The American Film Institute (AFI) named Grant the Second Greatest Male Star of the Golden Age of Hollywood (After Humphrey Bogart).
