You may not realize it, but Cameron Diaz is a retired actress. The former star of films including There's Something About Mary, and Charlie's Angels decided to end her career as an actress in 2014.

Diaz began working in Hollywood back in '94 with her breakout role as Tina Carlyle in The Mask, which was followed by dozens of films spanning a 20 year career. After wrapping 2014's Annie, she decided she no longer wanted to keep up with the rigorous schedule and travel commitments required for acting and decided to retire.

Her retirement came as a surprise given her age and popularity, but acting can take its toll. In 2013, she published a health book, which was co-written with Sandra Bark. That book became a bestseller and was followed by another in 2016.

Diaz continues to live and work out of her San Diego, California home, but has made no mention of returning to work in film anytime in the future.
