3. Blue Valentine (2010)
One of the more poignant and emotional of the films on this list, Blue Valentine is not anti-love in a liberating way; its a touching and realistic look at the eventual breakdown of a marriage. The film is shot in fragments, jumping in time between the initial meeting of Cindy (Michelle Williams) and Dan (Ryan Gosling) and their last ditch attempts to save their failing relationship.
Why is it anti-love? The film leads you to question whether love ever really exists or if people are just in the right place at the right time.
Most anti-love moment? The most obvious is the juxtaposition of the marriage with its end, but Cindys impromptu dance to Dans ukulele song (You always hurt the one you love) is chilling in the context of the film.
