10 Great Characters Who Could Replace Marvel Movie Heroes (And Who Should Play Them)
4. X-23
Hugh Jackman can't play immortal forever. If recent interviews with the actor are anything to go by, he's probably only going to last a couple more movies before Fox decide that they need to bring in a replacement or two. But rather than outright recasting Logan with a new actor, wouldn't it be more true to the history-rich X-Men universe to bring in a new character who has ties to him? Say, a family member? Now, there's been mention of Daken - Wolverine's psychotic son - on this site previously, but Logan's daughter seems a much more interesting prospect to take the mantle of her father. Well, X-23 isn't strictly Wolvie's daughter but a clone, as you may have guessed from her name. Created as another weapon, X-23 soon escaped her makers and joined Xavier's School. She's not led an easy life, much like her father, which makes her a character worth watching. Not to mention the fact that she has two adamantium claws in each hand and one in each foot. Yowza. For the amount of pain the character has to go through, the only actress that could do her justice that springs to mind is Zoe Kazan, whose agonising existential trauma in Ruby Sparks is perfect audition material for X-23.
