Fans of Back To The Future had to wait another four years before they finally discovered what happened to Marty McFly and Doc Brown in the year 2015. It was certainly worth it - despite a rather mixed reception from critics, Back To The Future Part 2 is a true fan favourite. Back in the 80s, fans had to wait until the VHS release of the original before they got to see that teasing "To Be Continued..." headline. With a considerably more convoluted plot than its predecessor, the sequel sees the time traveling duo caught up in a nefarious plan to transform the town into a fascist dictatorship courtesy of bully Biff Tannen, before traveling back to the '50s once again to try and undo the huge mess they inadvertently created. Not content with one great cliffhanger at the end of the first movie, the filmmakers throw another at us here - the film concludes with Doc Brown's DeLorean being struck by lightning, sending him traveling through time, and moments later Marty receives a message from a courier informing him that he's landed back in 1885. Fortunately, since Parts II and III were filmed back-to-back audiences only had to wait another year until they could take in the concluding part. Despite persistent rumours of a potential Back To The Future Part 4 being in the pipeline, creator Bob Gale revealed recently that a sequel will never happen.
