10 Great Comic Book Moments That Should Be In A Movie

1. Captain America Stands Up To Infinity Gauntlet-Wielding Thanos

Captain America Thanos In The Infinity Gauntlet #4, whilst wielding the mighty Infinity Gauntlet, which grants him nigh omnipotence, the nihilistic Mad Titan Thanos easily defeats Iron Man, Vision, Thor II (Eric Masterson), Starfox, Namor, Quasar, She-Hulk, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Drax the Destroyer, Firelord, Nova, Cloak, Cyclops and Dr. Doom. The only man left standing is Captain America, who Thanos sees as a joke because he has no real super-powers to speak of. The Captain shows no fear of his godlike foe as he strides over with intent to challenge him. He tells Thanos that as long as one man stands against him, he'll never truly achieve his victory. Thanos then bizarrely resorts to brawling with the Captain (despite the fact he has the power to destroy the universe with a thought), and he misses with his first swing, prompting Cap to take a swing of his own. But Cap finds that his feet have been held in place by the very ground beneath him, because Thanos has willed that to be the case. Thanos then smashes Cap's supposedly unbreakable shield with a casual backhand and the Silver Surfer (who would surely have to be replaced on screen, given the rights to the character belong to Fox) swoops in to steal the Infinity Gauntlet... and misses. At that point Thanos delivers the killing blow to Cap, who dies a truly heroic death without ever showing a hint of fear, despite the fact that he was essentially fighting God. Just imagine that on screen. So there you have it; Ten great comic book moments that need to be in a movie.
