10 Great Comic Book Movie Castings Fans Couldn't Handle

1. Steven Yeun - Joker

KUMAIL NANJIANI Wolverine
DC Comics

And now we've come to literally our only DC entry on this whole damn list. Over the years we've seen countless iterations of Batman's greatest foe. From the out and out wackiness of Cesar Romero in the 1960s TV series, Jack Nicholson's gangster take in 1989's Batman, the arguable gold standard that was Heath Ledger's turn in The Dark Knight, all the way to...Jared Leto's...thing, and Joaquin Phoenix's genre-bending interpretation. Gotham also had like...twelve versions? We want to say twelve. So who the hell could take up the mantle next?

The actor we'd like to see take up the iconic maniacal grin would be Steven Yeun. No doubt you're thinking "Glenn? Goddamn Glenn from The Walking Dead? Why?!" To which we say, keep reading we'll get to it. Sure, he's best known from his stint in The Walking Dead, but recently Yeun has been showing quite the aptitude for playing quietly creepy and unsettling psychopaths.

The first contender here is 2018's Burning, a quiet yet disturbing South Korean thriller starring Yeun as...well, a weirdo with a penchant for burning stuff. Aside from that, one of Yeun's most recent utilisations of that creepiness was in an episode of The Twilight Zone that had him playing an enigmatic stranger with an ability to unravel someone's psyche with a flick of his silver tongue.

It would be fascinating to watch Yeun take that oddly silent sociopathy and turn it on to the maniacal Clown Prince of Crime...perhaps across from Pattinson at some point? Get that Change petition going guys!
