10 Great Comic Book Movie Castings Fans Couldn't Handle

Yes, yes, we know. This isn't ever going to happen anymore thanks to Nanjiani already being a part of the MCU thanks to his casting in The Eternals, but, as we said, this is a What If...? situation we have on the go here. So, in another universe, let's just imagine.

We all know that one of Wolverine's key characteristics is that, well...he's kind of a douchebag sometimes. A douchebag with a heart of gold deep down, but a misanthropic douchebag nonetheless. Nanjiani has proven he can play that role pretty spot on thanks to his time playing Dinesh on Silicon Valley - who was every bit as sarcastic and sardonic as Logan...although Dinesh was certainly far more pathetic.

But we have to address that whole 'heart of gold' thing too, don't we? Well, Nanjiani has that down on lock too thanks to his turn in The Big Sick that saw the traditionally off the wall, oddball comedy actor plumb new - and up until that point unseen - emotional depths. And, honestly, so many scenes from that movie were absolutely heartbreaking, and that's precisely the kind of emotional range needed to play someone as complicated as Wolverine.

Also...the dude is super jacked, man.
