10 Great Directors Who Should Really Helm A Superhero Movie

#7 - Rian Johnson This Friday marks the release of Thor: The Dark World in the United States, the latest in Marvel's cinematic journey to total world domination, sponsored by shawarma. It also marks the big budget feature debut of director Alan Taylor. Taylor is primarily known for his work television work on shows like Oz and Game of Thrones. Hiring Taylor was a risky move on behalf of Marvel Studios, but one that seems to be paying off if the early reviews are any indication. And Taylor's not the only interesting director coming down the superhero pike. Joe and Anthony Russo (known mostly for their work on Community and Arrested Development) are the men behind the camera on the Captain American sequel, and my wettest dreams are basically coming true as we'll see both James Gunn and Edgar Wright directing superhero films before the end of 2015. With such a diverse and creative group of people coming Marvel's way, here's a few more suggestions for some great directors that we would love to see make their superhero debut...
