10 Great Eco-Horror Films You Need To See

8. Deep Blue Sea (1999)

Although Jaws is probably the first film that comes to mind when you think of scary animal films, Deep Blue Sea is by far the superior film in terms of its horror detail. Deep Blue Sea follows a group of scientists as they manipulate the brains of sharks in the hopes of obtaining a cure for Alzheimer’s.

An unexpected side effect is that the sharks become wildly intelligent and take revenge on the scientists by destroying their underwater laboratory and viciously killing most of the staff.

Again, this begs the question as to whether humanity has the right to manipulate and cause harm to nature for its own needs, and whether the animals they hurt are justified in their revenge.
