10 Great Films Under 95 Minutes Long
8. Wishmaster (90 Mins)
One for the horror fans now. Clearly inspired by '80s slasher films such as Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Halloween, this 1997 film missed the heyday of the genre but deserves to be considered alongside its peers.
The film features some glorious overacting, but Andrew Divoff steals the show as the villainous Djinn, one of the supernatural monsters behind all the wish granting genies of myth and legend. Suffice to say he’s a bit different from the Aladdin character. The Djinn tempts his victims with wishes only to catch them on a technicality, before condemning them to an awful fate.
The film had three sequels which steadily decreased in quality with each instalment, and the series was abandoned after the fourth. A great film to stick on if you’re after some grotesque thrills and don’t want to concentrate too much.
