10 Great Found-Footage Horror Movies You've Probably Never Seen

2. Murder Death Koreatown

Murder Death Koreatown is the perfect movie for those looking to self-induce paranoia.

When his neighbour is murdered, an unemployed young man goes in to investigate. As he travels deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, the lines between reality and imagination begin to not just blur, but erode entirely.

When people talk about mindf*ck movies, they're usually referring to ones like Inception, Donnie Darko, or Mulholland Drive. However, films like those are almost comforting when compared to Murder Death Koreatown.

Watching this movie feels like you're at the mercy of a professional manipulator, with the narrative feeling like one elaborate gaslighting campaign. Once it starts ramping up, the level of your sanity will quickly start ramping down. The only way to describe it is that it's like you've been dropped into the shoes of someone in the middle of a mental breakdown.

Adding even more to the madness is what went on behind the scenes. A quick Google search will show that not only is the film based off a real murder, but that it uses real crime scene photos in its production. The more you look into it, the more you will feel as though you've found yourself at the centre of some twisted mystery. Suffice to say, this one is not for the faint of heart.
