10 Great Horror Movies That Need A Modern Reboot

10. Ghoulies

Ghoulies was a low-budget 1985 horror-comedy that performed poorly at the box office, but did surprisingly well on home video (thanks largely to the instantly recognisable cover that showed Ghoulies coming out of a toilet) and has since developed a huge cult following. The film depicts a young man called Jonathan and his girlfriend Rebecca as they move into the former's late father's old mansion, where Jonathan becomes possessed by a need to control ancient demons. He summons a pair of creepy midget demons who proceed to cause havoc. It's an awful film with the cheapest special effects you're ever likely to witness, but it's enjoyable in a laughable kind of way and a modern reboot with a bigger budget and better effects would surely go down well. It spawned three sequels up until 1994, so there was obviously an audience for it (even with ridiculous titles like "Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College") and, as the horror genre tends to go through fad stages (slasher movies, found footage, gore porn, supernatural etc), why not allow comedy horror to make a return as the next one?
