The Five Nights at Freddie's movie took so long to get made that somebody managed to make a different movie with pretty much the exact same premise two years before it came out.

Willy's Wonderland follows the exploits of an unnamed janitor (Nicolas Cage) as he fights for his life against some creepy animatronics. The film is far less serious than the FNAF film and it's also considerably better, although it would have taken a minor miracle for it not to have been.

The movie's script, written by G. O. Parsons, caught Cage's eye after it gained some traction on Blood List, an online forum for unmade horror and thriller projects.

Parsons had previously tried to make the movie himself, producing a short called Wally's Wonderland. However, Parsons was unhappy with the finished product and so decided to go down the full-length route.

When asked why the project's name was change from "Wally's" to "Willy's", director Kevin Lewis said (as per ComicBookMovie) "Nick (sic) really liked 'Willy' and so we decided to change the name."
