10 Great Horror Movies You Definitely Missed In 2022
9. Allegoria
Ah, Rob Zombie, you delightful little weirdo you.
Whilst the Z-Man is best known to some as a musician, he's also made a name for himself in the world of horror films. He's directed House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, and the 2007 remake of Halloween.
Although, the less said about that last one the better.
The urge to make spooky movies clearly runs in the family, as Rob's younger brother Spider One released his first film in 2022.
That's a stage name, by the way. Their family surname is actually "Cummings", so you can see why they both changed it.
Allegoria is about a group of seemingly random artists who become connected as their various insecurities begin to manifest in gruesome ways. It's presented in an anthology style, tying together the various loose ends as the narrative progresses.
Whilst it's not perfect, Spider One makes a very good of go of his first ever feature film. It strikes a nice balance between creepy and funny, whilst presenting an interesting twist on the multi-story format.
Plus, it's got Warren from Buffy in it!
Instantly a five star classic.
