10 Great Moments From Not So Great Movies

8. Ninjas! (G.I. Joe: Retaliation)

Gi Joe Retaliation Ninja For me, Stephen Sommers' G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a guilty pleasure. It's basically a live-action version of Team America with some unintentionally laughable dialogue and ropey CGI. Think about it; at one point, Channing Tatum rides a motorcycle through a graveyard. In the rain. Wearing shades. The sequel, despite adding Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis to the mix, is just plain dull. It says a lot about the movie that although it features those two charismatic action stars, the old guy that plays the President is the best thing in it. However, as everyone knows, ninjas always make anything better and so it proved in the movie's best scene. What's better than ninjas, you say? Well, how about zip lining ninjas sword-fighting on a cliff-face? In a movie full of generic action sequences, this was a breath of fresh air. An expertly-choreographed mixture of practical sets, CGI and wire-work, the sequence features numerous interchangeable henchmen falling to their doom and some glorious slo-mo, and was one of 2013's best action scenes.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
