10 Great Moments In Otherwise Terrible Movies

6. The Matrix Reloaded - The Freeway Chase

The Terrible Movie: It may not have been the worst in the franchise, but the second Matrix film was pretty bad.

While the first film wore its pseudo-philosophical nonsense on its sleeve with pride, it always knew when the audience had had enough and wanted some action. Matrix Reloaded gave us a finale that was mostly Neo listening to Colonel Sanders spout some garbage about destiny.

It's also a film that has only gotten worse with age. CGI scenes that once looked cool, like Neo fighting an army of Agent Smiths, now just look incredibly dated.

The Great Moment: The freeway chase scene still holds up as one of the greatest car chase scenes in cinema thanks to its combination of practical effects and CGI sci-fi twists.

The Wachowskis put a lot of dedication into the scene, going as far as to have an entire freeway built to film on and the results really show. It's a chase that combines tightly shot action with the creativity of the Matrix concept.

It's a breathtaking scene, with gunfights between vehicles as Trinity swerves through traffic, agents appearing and jumping from car to car, the Twins popping in and out and clouds of smoke and car flips aplenty.

It's everything a chase scene needs to grow big and strong.
