10 Great Moments In Otherwise Terrible Movies

The Terrible Movie: Superman Returns may not technically be the worst film on this list, but it is staggering how a film about the world's greatest superhero can be so incredibly dull.

Part of the problem probably lies with the fact that Superman Returns tried to act as a continuation of the Richard Donner movies. No matter how much effort everyone involved put in, there's no way it was ever going to come out on top when compared to those beloved classics.

There's also the fact that Bryan Singer managed to ruin two franchises at once by leaving the X-Men films to come direct this story about how Superman is a deadbeat dad.

The Great Moment: The biggest tragedy of Superman Returns is that Brandon Routh was actually pretty damn great as the Man of Steel. No other scene better showcases that (and the potential that the film wasted) than when Superman announces his return to the world by saving an aeroplane full of people, including Lois Lane.

It's an incredible display of large-scale superheroics and the sweeping score really sells it as a Superman scene up there with the classics. Clark's reminder to everyone at the end that flight is still the safest way to travel is the icing on the cake that makes this scene one of the greatest Superman moments ever.
