1. Batman - Batman and Robin
Wow. How did this genuinely happen? Take a few minutes out of your schedule right now to consider how such a transition actually took place in the real world... a world in which somebody decided that Batman should go from a respectable creation to something on the back of a cereal box, complete with nipples and a bat credit card.
A bat credit card. Who okay'd that idea? So, yes, without a doubt, no character has ever been butchered in a movie sequel to the extent that Bruce Wayne was when he made the leap from
Batman Forever to
Batman and Robin. Okay, so you could probably argue that this character was butchered when Joel Schumacher took over for Tim Burton with
Batman Forever, but Val Kilmer's take on the character was nowhere near as detrimental to the logic of the universe as George Clooney's. Don't get me wrong: I like George Clooney, but he plays Batman with the kind of casualness that a celebrity might during a
Saturday Night Live sketch. He doesn't even change his voice when he's Batman! Gone is the tragic, haunted character of Batman lore - hello guy who just likes to dress up and party.
