10 Great Movie Villains That Deserve Their Own Halloween Costumes

9. Jean Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg - The Fifth Element (1997)

Zorg

Fifth Element is one of those wide-eyed cult films that has gained geek cred over the years but certainly didn't light up the box office upon its release in 1997. Since then, Milla Jovovich's LeeLoo has become a Cosplay and dress-up favorite, but that's not surprising as a redhead wearing little more than three oversized bandages was destined for fandom appeal. But Leeloo wasn't the only colorful and engaging character in Fifth Element (honestly, which characters weren't?) and Gary Oldman's humorously ineffective heavy Zorg was every bit as absurd and entertaining. Perhaps it was the fact the film was already stuffed with villains, including a hurtling death planet and an army of sentient dog-men, or that Bruce Willis' hero and Oldman's Zorg never actually faced-off. Whatever the reason, this quirky mix of Ross Perot, Darth Vader and Porky Pig never quite got his due as classic antagonist. Put that aside, though, because he's unquestionably a very distinct-looking fellow, and if you're feeling your inner French fashion designer, you could probably whip up some neon latex duds and transform a hair-cap into that monstrously offbeat wig. Zorg, with his lisp and metal leg is also a bit of a performance piece, and he's got some great accessories; you choose whether you want the splendid, all-purpose ZF1 Pod gun or that multi-colored mini-elephant that would double as an excellent scarf on a particularly cold Halloween night.
