No, not the original shark. Technically, this shark has no real name, other than the affectionate Bruce nickname given to the shonky, malfunctioning model used in the first film.

There’s been a lot of head sharks in the Jaws franchise and altogether they've turned the Great White shark into a real-life villain. People can’t see that kind of animal without immediately thinking of danger.

You can't buy that kind of impact and it’s safe to say that Jaws is an icon. However, his motivations are screwed up.

Specifically, his motivations in Jaws: The Revenge are incredibly stupid. In other films, a shark is simply a shark. Yes, they're menacing and like to eat people, but we're very clearly told in Jaws 2 that sharks don’t hold grudges. They have no motivation other than being pure killing machines, which makes them all the more terrifying. A force of nature.

And then all that is disproved by the villain in Jaws: The Revenge, who literally bears a grudge. Honestly, it’s like they didn’t even pay attention to the other stories. Jaws lore runs shallow.
