Run Time: 80 minutes Lola has twenty-minutes to save her boyfriend which is basically the entire plot and thats perfectly okay. Director Tom Tykwer focuses on those twenty-minutes by showing that time span three times over, but each time there are small differences that affect the outcome. Each scenario attempts to differentiate from one another by utilizing different effects such as speed-up, instant replay, black and white, and even animation. Three separate twenty-minute scenarios equal a short and beautifully mastered thriller with a strong message that life consists of the decisions we make. The film is in German but the subtitles arent necessarily needed as the action tells the story. The title speaks for itself; youre watching Lola run. More importantly, youre watching her run for only eighty-minutes.
