10 Great Movies That Audiences Originally Hated

4. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

Batman Returns
Universal

Scott Pilgrim vs The World continues to grow its fandom even now, but back before its release, some were left unimpressed by the initial trailers. The concept felt silly and too out there for many general audiences taste at the time. Things change, and people's taste develops over time and this film has definitely benefited from a change in taste.

Critics and viewers alike loved the look of the film when it came out. It was distinct, fun, and visually pleasing to the eye, but there was talk of story issues in those who didn't enjoy it as much.

It seems what once soured the movie to many people now brings them into the film's cult following. Anime and manga continue to grow in popularity, and that rise has definitely helped.
