4. V Wars (2019) - Ian Somerhalder
Alongside Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder was a part of The Vampire Diaries' core trio. Known for playing Damon Salvatore, Ian wasn't willing to give up the world of fangs and stakes. He went on to appear in the Netflix series V Wars which was based upon the V Wars anthology book series by Jonathan Mayberry.
The series centres on the outbreak of a virus which turns humans into vampires. As the scale of the pandemic spreads, society splits into two factions: Humans and Bloods. Ian's character Dr Luther Swann is team Human but unluckily for him, his best friend and research partner Michael becomes a vampire and joins Blood.
Unfortunately, V Wars was cancelled after just one season, but don't let that put you off as the first season remains a hugely enjoyable ride. The series takes a few episodes to find its footing and some moments are just downright silly, but overall V Wars is a blast of a supernatural drama that won't take you long to binge.
After playing Damon, it's refreshing to see Ian portray a human character and there's even a Vampire Diaries/Twilight crossover as actress Nikki Reed (who played Rosalie in Twilight) portrays Ian's wife Rachel Swann in the show.
