10 Great Performances Lost In Unwatchable Movies

7. Tommy Wiseau (The Room)

Like nothing else on this list, The Room epitomises the word 'unwatchable'. And, at the opposite end of the spectrum, Tommy Wiseau's performance in it really stretches the definition of 'great'. And yet, an enormous cult has built up around The Room, thanks in no small part to Wiseau as Johnny.

By all accounts, The Room is a terrible movie and Tommy Wiseau is terrible in it, but there's something magnetic in both, be it the abysmal (yet entirely quotable) script, or Wiseau's magnificently misjudged performance.

Both Tommy and the movie transcend their rubbishness (your mileage, of course, may vary) to become something approaching true performance art. 'Huh?' indeed.
