10 Great Performances Lost In Unwatchable Movies
4. Tim Curry - IT
'Surely not!' You exclaim, outraged, 'IT is a horror classic!' Except it isn't, not really. The television adaptation of Stephen King's IT may have utterly terrified audiences of a certain age (and beyond), but what we're really thinking of when we think about IT is its Pennywise, The Dancing Clown.
As the grinning, sinister Pennywise, Tim Curry delivers one of the greatest horror performances of all time, elevating IT from dull TV schlock to 'horror classic'. What we tend to forget is the hours of scare-free filler, the terrible ending and the often wooden acting.
With the first installment of a two-part remake headed into cinemas this year, we may finally get a genuinely good, scary version of King's IT - but it's unlikely we'll ever see a villain like Tim Curry's Pennywise ever again.
