2. Airplane! (1980)
Everyone knew this would be on the list. It had to be, it's on almost every list, and with good reason. This is THE spoof movie. Airplane! is no doubt the most recognizable spoof ever made, and the Zucker Brother's finest hour. There is barely a moment in this film where there's not at least a smile on the viewer's face. Airplane! starts and doesn't let up with the jokes. Be it sight gags, like girl scouts in a barroom brawl, word play, or slapstick, Airplane! throws every joke they can think of at you. Of course, they're not all gut-busting moments of hilarity, but they all work on one level or another. The central theme is that of a disaster movie, though you'll quickly forget that: who has time to worry about plot when there's so much going on? You'd need to watch the movie at least five times to catch half of the gags. Don't worry though, even after five viewings of Airplane!, it will still have you cracking up.
