10 Great Stan Lee Cameos Not In Marvel Movies
1. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies
Marvel's greatest hero has shown up in countless productions across decades of film for the company that he helped to shape into the biggest thing in superhero stories. It would take until the final months of his life, however, for Lee to cross the great comics divide and show up as himself in a film for the Distinguished Competition.
Released earlier this year, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies is essentially pre-teen Deadpool in the way that the entire movie exists simply as an anarchic exercise in mocking the tropes and trends of the superhero movie genre as a whole. And what superhero movie trope could be more memorable than the obligatory Stan Lee cameo. So, of course Teen Titans Go! had to have one of those too.
"Hey everybody, look at me! I'm Stan Lee doing my subtle cameo!" Lee, voicing himself, says straight to camera and surrounded by his name in lights, before being informed by an assistant that he's in a DC movie. That doesn't keep him down for long, though.
The movie's climactic chase across the film studio lot brings Lee back, hanging onto the golf cart in which our heroes are making their escape and declaring: "I don't care if it is a DC movie, I love cameos!" Us too, Stan. Us too.
