10 Great Superman Stories That Could Save The DCEU

1. All-Star Superman

Often considered to be one of the best, if not the very best Superman story ever told, All-Star Superman is a love letter to the Kryptonian hero's mythology and everything he stands for and protects. It even wears the character's more outlandish elements (such as Bizarro World) as a badge of honour.

Following the rescue of a crew engaged in the exploration of the Sun, Superman is exposed to dangerous levels of solar radiation that will lead to his untimely demise.

However, impending death will not slow the Man of Steel as he seeks to improve the lives of those he loves, humanity as well as a handful of Kryptonian survivors before he passes on.

The story was adapted into a direct-to-DVD film in 2011 and while it was enjoyable and well-animated, the 75-minute runtime really held it back, a disadvantage that a feature-length will not have.

A faithful adaptation of the comic will be unlike anything most audiences have seen in a superhero film, with weird but wonderful visuals, expansive worldbuilding amid an inspiring tale of a man that will not let his mortality stop his heroic exploits.
