10 Greatest Acting Performances In Comic Book Movies

5. Tom Holland - Spider-Man

There has been debate for years now over who best brought Spider-Man to the big screen. Whether it was Sam Raimi's take on the beloved Wall-crawler or the Marc Webb-helmed reboot of the property, there is definitely competition amongst who wore the red and blue tights best. Whereas some fans would debate this back and forth, things will get a lot easier once we admit that Tom Holland is the perfect incarnation of ol' Web-head.

Despite feeling a touch tacked on at the midpoint of Captain America: Civil War, Holland's take on Peter Parker is one of the most faithful representations in the entire MCU. Compared to Tobey Maguire, Holland's Peter feels so much more lived-in as a character, making him feel like your average kid who just so happened to be bitten by a spider. Also, Holland has perfected his Queens accident, making him feel much more at home in the character than the more forced delivery we got from Andrew Garfield.

Whereas most actors like to ride the wave of being both serious and goofy, Tom Holland knows how to toe that line without anything feeling forced. While it does drive some fans up the wall for Spidey to play as a pseudo adopted son of Iron Man in the MCU, Holland has carved out a path for himself that has marked his Spider-Man out as a major favourite of many.
