10. Is That King Or The Grinch? - Creepshow

American Werewolf in London - transformation
Warner Bros.

In the 1982 horror anthology Creepshow audiences watched on as the legendary Stephen King slowly became a plant-based monster. In the second story of the movie titled ‘The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill, King plays a farmer who is one day exposed to a meteorite with some incredibly environmentally friendly properties.

After touching the meteorite King starts to grow a green fuzz all over his body and starts to resemble Jim Carrey’s Grinch as the otherworldly shrubbery starts to take complete control of him. After running his hands underwater, the weeds start to grow more and more and by the end of the movie, he is entirely overcome by the strange alien plant and can’t take life anymore as he starts to look like a green teen wolf with every passing second.

This is one film that gives a new meaning to the phrase “green fingers”.
