Loki’s journey throughout his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been unlike any other characters. There is no one that even comes close to the sheer breadth Loki has spanned on the good/evil spectrum.

He grew up innocent enough, mischievous maybe, but in adulthood he played the part of the villain. After his defeat by the Avengers in 2012, he worked almost as an anti-hero to help his brother defeat both Malekith and Hela, before finally becoming the hero he always wanted to be.

In his final moments, Loki attempted to kill Thanos, knowing full well that it would get him killed. He told his brother the sun would shine again on them, and though he died, fans of the character could rest easy knowing that he died a hero.

There is arguably no greater demonstration of his redemption arc than when he uttered the very phrase to Thanos that Tony Stark threatened him with back in New York: “We have a Hulk.”

Just minutes into Infinity War and audiences were already losing their damn minds.
