10 Greatest Callbacks In MCU History
3. Back In Black - Spider-Man: Far From Home
In the wake of Tony Stark’s death, there were a lot of questions over who would step up and try to fill his shoes. From an audience perspective, it was who would be the new face of the franchise, and from an in-world perspective, it was who would lead the Avengers.
Clearly, Tony wanted his successor to be Peter Parker. He gave him EDITH, he had been his protégé before Thanos killed him, and he was trusted by his father figure completely. Peter struggled with this for a while, looking instead to Quentin Beck as another role model, but he eventually accepted his new role.
On Happy’s plane, Peter decided he needed a new suit to kick Mysterio’s ass, to which Happy could oblige. He showed Spider-Man to the workspace at the back and it was like watching Tony Stark all over again. Even down to how he worked with the tech in front of him.
As Peter took care of the suit, Happy took care of the music, hitting AC/DC’s Back in Black. This was the first thing ever heard in the MCU as the soundtrack to Tony getting attacked in Afghanistan in the first place. If this didn’t solidify Peter’s steps in Tony’s shoes, then nothing could.
