6. Judy - Friday the 13th Part VII: A New Blood/Amanda - Friday the 13th (2009 remake)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRJWz8QO8ag I combined these two deaths because they are so similar and so phenomenal that neither could be excluded and I couldn't pick just one. Nicknamed the sleeping bag kills," Judys demise is less dastardly than Amandas. In Judys experience, she is wrapped tightly in her sleeping bag attempting to get a good nights sleep, by which I mean she was naked and waiting for her boyfriend Dan to give her a stiff... night cap. Jason, as we learned, is not a fan of such goings on and promptly rips Judy in her sleeping bag off of the ground and whips it straight into the trunk of a rather large tree, breaking her body in half. Amanda doesnt get such an instant death, though. In fact, her death makes me feel a little sick. When having sex with her boyfriend Richie gets interrupted, she watches as he leaves her alone by the fireside. Oiling herself up, she waits for his return. When he does return, however, he is faced with his leg in a bear trap and a front row seat to Amandas roast. Rather than getting made fun of by her peers however, her roast is much more literal in the sense that she is dangling headfirst in her sleeping bag over the open flame. Screaming and burning alive, Amanda is finally put out of her misery when, presumably, her lungs fail due to smoke inhalation. Or her organs have been cooked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv7hfUws27w These are classic kills because they show people in the act of camping. Whereas before hand, weve been watching counselors who resemble the original counselors responsible for Jasons death, we are now moving into camper territory. Jasons MO has changed. No one is safe. Plus, the addition of a sleeping bag adds to audience terror when they realize you dont need to be too strong to throw someone in their sleeping bag against a tree and break them in half. It made people everywhere reconsider who they took camping with them.
