Wild Things very quickly transcended the usual limits of Hollywood and moved into that fabled space where cultural phenomena live - and it was all thanks to one particularly steamy scene pitting Denise Richards, Neve Campbell and Matt Dillon together in one of the most provocative threesome scenes outside of straight-up pornography. Ironically, when that scene is recycled or talked about, it is usually accompanied by the now iconic image of the female pair kissing in a swimming pool, which is actually taken from an entirely different, but no less brilliant scene from the same movie. Fresh from making Starship Troopers, Richards was incredibly hot - both as a property, and physically - and Campbell was a major prime-time TV star, having enjoyed success on Party Of Five. Both could have been forgiven for taking simple roles in fluffy movies to advance their big screen ambitions, but instead they made this erotic thriller with an incredibly well-chosen cast, and committed one of the finest girl-girl scenes ever to screen.
