8. Red Grant
The original brutish assassin character to appear in the film series, Grant is memorable for being the first major character to provide a genuine physical threat to Bond. The famed train brawl between Grant and Connerys Bond was genuinely shocking at the time for the intensity of the violence, and the ferocity with which Grant attempts to carry out his grim purpose briefly creates the illusion that Bond might not live through this encounter. This scene wouldnt be nearly as effective if the film hadnt already deftly established the steel-muscled Grant as a truly formidable agent of SPECTRE.
