10 Greatest Ever James Bond Villains

6. Goldfinger Though the film which bears his name is one of the most beloved in the storied history of the franchise, the actual character of Auric Goldfinger never struck me as a truly magnificent villain (controversy!). Don€™t get me wrong, he€™s no slouch. His plan is outrageously ambitious, and the trappings of his flamboyant criminality have burnt themselves into the popular consciousness€but underneath the epic scheming and the gold fetishism, good old Auric basically comes across as, well, Just A Guy, if I€™m being honest. A middle-aged German man in tweed, who would look more at home holding forth over the main course in a Bavarian restaurant than invading Fort Knox with the Chinese. Still, his legendary status in pop culture ensures his place here.
