When Wreck It Ralph hit screens audiences were clearly going to be excited that Disney had created a film set inside a world where games are just the day jobs of their characters. But not only had Disney created original characters based on popular gaming types, there was a massive cast of characters from existing games, that sent long time gaming fans into a frenzy. The plot focuses on Ralph, a typical, retro bad guy who is suffering an existential crisis, disheartened with his role within his own game. There are some beautiful scenes that take these well-recognised fan favourites and give them a charming everyday ordinariness and adding new depths to your beloved classics. Of all these scenes, none are as delightful as watching Ralph in a self help group with iconic bad guys such as Bowser, Zangief and Dr Robotnik, discussing the difficulties and rewards of being the villain. Its what you would expect from Disney: beautifully animated, funny and you could spend hours trying to spot all the characters and games featured in the film.
