5. Man Bites Dog (1992)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcPhaieTg4o Many people consider films like Salo, Irreversible and A Serbian film to be among the most disturbing and shocking films ever to be made. And while they definitely are really hard to watch none of them manage to have the level of brutality and disturbance that Man Bites Dog had. In Man Bites Dog we see a documentary that involves a crew of filmmakers follow a violent, serial killer's walk of death through a normal day. What starts as a very dark comedy that is an incredibly well written satire of current media quickly turns into a disturbing, shocking and ultra-violent film that shows to all of us the darkest, and most cruel side of our current society. You start watching this film maybe even rooting for the characters during the first half, however once the second half of the movie begins you realize what kind of things are stored in for. With that being said I think it's one of the best films ever made, the effects are really well done, the characters and the dialogue are so well written and the outcome of the movie really leaves you with a strange feeling inside. A lot of people say "Don't see this if you're faint of hear" and the film ends up being really bad, however on this case I'm pretty sure that once you're done watching it you'll have a strange feeling for weeks to come.
