10 Greatest Guilty Pleasure Movies Of The 90s

7. The Wedding Singer

Remember the good old days, back when Adam Sandler actually seemed to care about the films he was making? It was a short window in the late 90s and early 2000s, but it was nice while it lasted. This is easily Sandler at his most likeable, playing a heartbroken wedding singer whose fiance leaves him at the altar, and his trademark histrionics are kept to a minimum.

It has an almost sickeningly sweet love story, as he falls in love with a wedding venue waitress who is unfortunately already engaged to a douchey stock market guy. The girl in question is Drew Barrymore, one of the reigning queens of 90s romantic comedies, and someone who we have not seen the last of on this list.

What really elevates the film is the strong supporting cast, comprised of both the Sandler staples who inevitably turn up in every single one of his films and some standouts like Christine Taylor and Jon Lovitz, and the fun, frenetic 1980s setting which is used to full effect.
