10 Greatest Guilty Pleasure Movies Of The 90s

5. Armageddon

There are a lot of cringe-worthy elements in this film. The iffy physics behind their idea to blow up the asteroid in the first place, to say nothing of the questionable decision to send a bunch of unhealthy roughnecks up into space just because they happen to be good at drilling rather than the smart, capable astronauts who are well-trained and psychologically vetted.

Ben Affleck's outrageously bad Australian accent during his awkward pillow talk session with Liv Tyler certainly ranks as well.

On the whole, there isn't a ton to recommend this film to viewers. There's no reason why Armageddon should be so inherently watchable, and yet...it is.

Because as much as you might scoff at the cheesiness and bad science, if you're honestly trying to say that you don't get a little lump in your throat when Aerosmith's I Don't Want to Miss a Thing comes on and Bruce Willis makes the tough decisions, you're just straight up lying.
