10 Greatest James Bond Themes In The History of the Franchise

3. Moonraker - Shirley Bassey

A listing of the best Bond title themes will never be complete without a top half listing of the queen of the franchise. Dame Shirley Bassey holds the record for most Bond titles songs performed with three titles under her belt (starting with Goldfinger, followed by Diamonds Are Forever, and concluding with this very entry), on top of side projects she€™s worked on with recent Bond composer, David Arnold. Even outside of the franchise, she€™s brought the style and class of one of her Bond titles to songs that otherwise would not possess such gravitas. (Listen to her version of P!nk€™s €œGet This Party Started€ for further evidence.) But while most would argue that Goldfinger is her best work, the argument can also be made for the title song to what is hands down one of the worst Bond films ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt3oQN0cAv0 Hers is not a song of a rather lackluster space battle that was only included so Star Wars could be tied to England€™s own super spy, but a song of a haunted lover who searches for her mate. True, this isn€™t stereotypical Bond fare, but if you can take that material and turn it into a memorable song that lasts long after the film€™s memory has crashed and burned, then you clearly have earned a title as Bond royalty.
