10 Greatest Marvel Movies Never Made
5. X-23
After a painfully underwhelming solo movie, and an average-at-best sequel, Logan was finally the movie that Wolverine deserved. The movie was easily the best in the X-Men franchise, and it acted as the perfect goodbye to its greatest characters (here's hoping Deadpool 3 doesn't ruin it).
Not only was this the final bow for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (again, until Deadpool 3 came along), it also acted as the introduction to another mutant. To use a Last of Us analogy, Laura was the Ellie to Logan's Joel, and she was phenomenal.
Dafne Keen announced herself on the biggest stage possible as X-23 in Logan, and she brought everything you could want to the role. As Logan's daughter in a manner of speaking, she was ruthless and vicious, but she brought a powerful amount of heart, as well as humour to the screen.
Coming out of the movie, an X-23 spin-off movie seemed the obvious next move for Fox, with both Keene and Logan director James Mangold up for the project. It would seem however, that Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019 killed any chance of the movie seeing the light of day. Though the X-Men are yet to appear in the MCU, and anything is possible, unfortunately this one just doesn't seem to be on the cards.
