10 Greatest MCU End Credits Scenes

Thor: Ragnarok still holds up as one of the most drastic departures that the MCU has ever undertaken. Chris Hemsworth's portrayal of the God of Thunder gained new life once Taika Watiti brought his trademark weirdness into the picture. Even though Thor became a lovable goofball in this movie, the last few minutes of brought everything to a grim conclusion.

Up until this moment, we've seen Thor take a lot of things in stride, whether it be the loss of his hammer, his planet, or even his eyeball at the hands of his sister Hela. From the minute this starts, we have no reason to believe that this kind of tone won't translate over to the credits, as Loki and Thor joke around about going back to Earth.

However, this pleasant little ending is rudely interrupted by a huge shadow eclipsing them, which pans to become Thanos' ship. The size and scope of the spacecraft is worth mentioning as well, with Thanos' entire ride having enough muscle to devour Thor's ship if necessary.

While Ragnarok served as a nice departure from the heaviness of something like Civil War, this is where all of the lightheartedness faded away. Things were about to get really serious really fast.
