6. Inspector Tequila - Hard Boiled
For the opening sequences of Hard Boiled alone, Inspector Tequila would make this list. The first 10 minutes of Hard Boiled features a blitzkrieg of outrageous shootouts with more jumping and rolling than a gymnastics tournament. Tequila is the character that made Chow Yun-fat a star and to this day he remains one of the biggest names in Asian cinema. Despite being something of a gun-toting maniac, Tequila is not without his soft side, emphasised by his deep-centered romanticism, which we are occasionally given a glimpse of. Everybody's favourite maverick, Tequila goes about his business with reckless abandon. Armed with nothing but balls of steel, the biggest shotgun you'll ever see and a seemingly unlimited amount of ammunition, Tequila takes on everybody and anybody in his quest for revenge. It's no secret John Woo is one of the finest action directors ever and much of his best work is on display in this films, which features at the heart of it, the cop we all want to be.
